We are very pleased to welcome Bro. Tim Franklin to his new position as Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church.  Bro. Tim first joined us as Children’s Minister in 2015.  During the spring of 2017, he was asked to serve as our Interim Pastor.  After serving 9 months as Interim Pastor, Bro. Tim was called by the church to serve as our full-time pastor.

Bro. Tim and his wife, Cindy, both grew up here in Denison.  They were married in 1999 and in 2012 they adopted their two daughters from Ukraine.  Alona is now 16 years old and Katya is 14.

Bro. Tim accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 11 years old.  Growing up in a church that had strong Children’s and Bus Ministries laid the foundation for his eventual surrendering of his life to the ministry.  He began serving in children’s ministry by running his first church van route when he was 18 years old.  His involvement in children’s ministry grew from there.

After many years of leading Children’s Church, Tim knew that God was calling him into full time ministry.  He was ordained in July 2015 and began to seek exactly where God would lead him.  It became evident that God had plans for him here at Calvary Baptist.  In October of 2015, Bro. Tim came to Calvary Baptist Church as our Children’s Pastor.

In May of 2017, Bro. Tim became our Interim Pastor, causing his wife, Cindy, to step up into the position of Children’s Director.  The Franklin girls, Alona and Katya, are usually found serving alongside their parents, helping in many ways.

When the family gets a chance, they all like to slip away and enjoy the outdoors.  They enjoy camping, fishing, and cooking hearty meals over an open fire.  They like to take their Boxer dog, Dasha, along with them whenever possible.

Bro. Tim enjoys woodworking and beekeeping and is learning to play guitar.  His favorite foods are barbecue and Mexican food.  His favorite quote is “God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called”.  His favorite scriptures are Proverbs 3:5-6 and Philippians 4:13.
